I’m going to try to keep up with this just a little more often this year. At least that’s the plan.
We had a good New Year’s eve celebration. John worked til 5:00, but when he got home, we got our stuff all set out & ready to go. Shrimp ring, summer sausage, meatballs, oranges, apples & caramel dip, popcorn, cheeseball & crackers, extra sharp cheddar cheese, grapes, pretzels, & sparkling grape juice. We sat down to eat, then pulled out The Resistance to play. We ended up skyping Darci in to play with us. That was hilarious!
She had to go for a while to put Quinn to bed & while she was gone, we decided to try playing “blind spies”. The point of the game is for the spies to win 3 out of the 5 missions. In the normal game, the spies are the only ones who know who their partners in crime are. Imagine not knowing who ANYONE is! It made it even more fun b/c there was more strategy involved. I think we may play it that way all the time! When we skyped Darci back in & told her what we were doing, she was like… ooookkkkkaaaayyyyyy, but it worked out fine. Viva La Resistance!
John was off on Thursday, but went back to work Friday. (How can you turn down double time?) We didn’t really do anything Saturday, although I did start a lap blanket to use in his car. Unfortunately, my needle broke & I couldn’t work on it much. We went out Sunday to pick one up at Walmart – they didn’t have it. We also took Camryn with us since she needed a new phone (broke the glass on the BACK of hers). Casey was eligible for an upgrade that he said she could use. By the time we got done with all that & got to Walmart, the game was just about ready to start. Heaven forbid we miss any of it! We did have to go out later to run Camryn someplace (the roads were icing), so I got my needles replaced.
It was a good game, especially the second half. Colts won & are going to Denver next week. Better them than New England!
Today, we are back to school & trying to get back into the swing of things. It’s not working out so well. I think both girls have math done & are working on their DK12. Well, technically, they’re eating lunch right now, but…
The sun is shining but it’s stupidly cold outside. When I woke up it was 6° with a real feel of -12°. We’re supposed to get 3 to 6 inches of snow tonight. I’ve got my cold bag ready to go & told Taryn to pack one for herself. (She’s the only one practicing tonight & I have to work.) I kind of dread getting back into the swing of the gym though. It’s been a nice break, even if it was forced due to sickies. (We missed 2 scheduled practices.)
I think that’s enough for today. I must get me something to eat.
